I don't typically write reviews bit this spa experience definitely deserves a great review. I had a super relaxing spa day and felt I knew the staff for years. The facial was amazing! I will definitely be back the next time we visit from BC.

I don’t have a google account so I am using my husbands. He took me here and purchased the rmt massage and pedicure treatment. I don’t normally write bad reviews but this was the worst experience I have ever received. I came home and took off the nail polish as she ruined a nail and just piled on more polish instead of taking it off and reapplying. I also filed my nails as she made some square and some round. I asked about my dry skin if it could be removed and she suggested I purchase butter from the shop instead. I basically left there with one toe full of bumpy nail polish, the others with barley any on it (she only did one application and not a second), misshaped nails and dry skin. Finally, there was nothing relaxing about it. Anyway, if you are just looking to give away your money and waste time this is the place. You have been warned :)

My husband and I had planned to have a romantic spa day at Scandinave in Blue Mountain but we found out they had a huge wait list so we had to make an alternate plan. We only went to Kalola as a day guest (to experience the spa & use the hot tubs and sauna). This was the worst “spa” experience we have ever had. The bathrooms and sauna are in a grungy hotel basement and there are no toiletries in the bathroom area. As you walk upstairs to the pool and hot tub area, it smelled dirty and mildewy; two of the four small outdoor hot tubs were broken, and of the two that were operational, one had minimal jet function and were not clean. When we asked the maintenance guy, he said that the pool maintenance staff do not work weekends. The website makes this place look like a spa oasis, however it is more like a grimy hotel pool and hot tub. We felt the website was highly misleading in comparison to the whole vibe of the place. If these facilities were merely for hotel guests it might be passable, but considering we spent $115 to sit in the dirty hot tub for a half hour, to say we were disappointed would be a huge understatement. We should have asked for a refund but felt it wasn’t worth the hassle. I can’t comment on the actual treatments as there were no RMT massages available.

I have had numerous services at this location and have never been unsatisfied. The reflexology by Faye is probably the MOST relaxing and overall calming treatment I have ever received. I have also had multiple RMT massages which have always been very beneficial with my back pain. as well as experiencing the multiple facials and foot treatments, my favourite thing about the services and this spa in general is they use their own products that are custom blended down town Collingwood, so the products are all natural and local!

When booking my facial I requested a facial with extractions because I had milia I needed removed on my cheek bones, I repeated multiple times that the milia was my key reason for the facial, the receptionist recommended the ultimate facial because it included extractions and booked my point. At the beginning of my appointment I told the esthetician I had milia that I wanted removed and to my disappointment she informed me they are not allowed to use a lance (tool used for milia removal) and do extractions by hand. As someone who has been struggling with milia for a while and has many facials I know the process for removing them, which as why I had explicitly expressed the reason for booking the appointment. The esthetician then explained that the people who book the appointments wouldn't know what milia were and continued with the facial. The facial was good but not at all what I was looking for. I was offered no apology for the confusion or discount. I think if a spa is advertising a facial with extractions they should specify that these are done only by hand and not with tools.
